The Reading BINGO activity is designed to encourage independent reading practice at home and in school.  Each student is to select a row or line from the Reading BINGO grid to work on.  He/she will select chapter books to read according to the genre in each grid, making  for a total of five books for that quarter.  After reading a book, students will complete a book report worksheet, have a parent sign the bottom and return it to Ms. Jensen.  If the student is not able to provide detailed answers on the sheet supplied the student is expected to use another sheet of paper.  Students may not include previously read books  on their card.  In cases where your child wants to read a 400 page book or more, we can work it out where the book counts for two reports.

The idea is not to read easy books to just get the project done but to read books that the students will truly enjoy.

This assignment is not optional, but a required part of their reading grade.
